This fish was immediately released, unharmed back into the Salmon River
The Salmon River is clear this week – currently running at 4510 CFS and 52 degrees. Weather in Riggins, Idaho this week will bring mostly clear and sunny skies with daytime highs in the upper 60’s to mid 70’s; evenings and early mornings will have lows in the upper 30’s to low 40’s.
Steelhead fisher people continue to enjoy great fishing with us! 20 people fished for these game fish and hooked into 88 fish, landing 54 of them. These are spicy, strong willed fish that are jumping out of the water, dancing on their tails and spooling line; the makings of a truly exciting battle! This year’s run seems to be bigger than average and we are seeing lots of big, healthy native fish.
This week’s BIG FISH shout-out goes to Rebecca Markosian from Park City Utah who landed a monster 36” wild Steelhead on October 14th while fly fishing with drift boat guide Norm Klobetanz. This week’s MOST FISH shout-out goes to The Key Bank Boys from Boise; they hooked into 18 fish and landed 13 of them while fishing with jet boat guide Scott Warden.
